This vintage hand-carved bear lamp is so much fun. Signed by the artist, R. Moreau, and found in Quebec, it is a fabulous example of the animal wood carving Quebec is famous for. Probably made of butternut wood, it has a beautiful golden blonde patina. The 9-inch square base features a charmingly detailed bear walking near a wood pile with a large tree trunk for the light, and a couple of beautifully carved pine trees. Even the shade is hand-made of wood, with bird shapes cut-out on each side. The shade is unfinished and could be painted or stained to match your decor. The lamp stands 20 inches tall and the shade is 9.5 inches deep. The shade is tapered with the top dimension 7 inches and the bottom 11 inches. Working lamp has old cord and plug. In great shape with no broken or missing pieces. One small chip to veneer on lamp shade (please see last photo). Felt on bottom of base is mostly worn away, confirming its age. It doesn’t get any better than this for authentic vintage cottage decor! Please note: Due to weight or size this item will incur additional shipping costs. Arrangements to be made upon purchase.
