This hand-carved wood Black Forest style vintage leaf frame is in awesome shape with all its oak leaf pieces intact. Nicely carved wood frame with a ribbed, notch design, probably made of walnut. The leaves on the corners are intact, but not terribly detailed, almost look like they are embossed rather than carved. For this reason we are estimating that this frame is from the 1930s, or possibly the leaves were replaced during that time period. Bronze interior trim. Glass is probably not original. Inside the frame is an autographed photo of a cowboy actor. The signature in the upper left corner reads, “To a Great Future George”. The actor could be George Houston, a B-western film actor who starred in 11 films as “The Lone Rider” in the 1930s. Frame measures 13 inches wide by 15 inches high to the outer corners. Interior dimensions are approximately 8 x 10. Cardboard backing. Great classic rustic decor for lodge or cabin. You can easily remove the handsome cowboy and use the gorgeous frame for another purpose.
