Vintage Native Maiden Print

Product Description

Gorgeous vintage native maiden print picturing a Native American woman kneeling on a rock outcropping and gazing at the reflection of the moon in the calm water of a lake below. Exquisitely detailed in lovely soft shades of blue, green and gold, the maiden is wearing a drapey one-shoulder robe in soft rose and a beaded headband with a feather. (Please try to ignore the reflections in the glass in our photos. It is very difficult to take a photo of an image behind glass.)

We think this is an early calendar print, probably from the 1930s. Mounted behind glass in the original wood frame with textured mat. No artist signature visible.  On the back is a sticker from N.K. Wendelboe Picture Framing, 217 Liberty St. Warren, PA, a business that existed in the 1930s. The entire piece including frame measures 11 inches wide by 14 inches high. The frame has some scuffs and paint chipping to the finish, but the print is in excellent shape with just a tiny bit of warping. Truly a lovely vintage piece for a cottage chic or rustic home.
