We are absolutely in love with this very rare antique silverplate nut bowl with an adorable squirrel figure. Made by the Pairpoint Manufacturing Company around 1900, the quadruple silver plate bowl has a hammered surface and naturalistic acorn branches and leaves. The squirrel is perched on one side eating a nut, and the bowl leans to that side until is has something in it. On the bottom is stamped Pairpoint Mfg. Co., Quadruple plate and the number 2906. Pairpoint Manufacturing Company was founded by Thomas J. Pairpoint in 1880 in New Bedford, Mass. and became a top maker of silver plate and lamps. The bowl is in good condition with very dark tarnish and slight dents on both sides of the bowl. Measures about 6 inches wide and stands about 2.5 inches tall. Just the most charming dish to hold nuts or a collection of pinecones, beach glass or pebbles in your rustic home.
