Vintage Pillar Candlestick – Christmas Candle

Fabulous folk art floor-standing pillar candle holder made from a heavy turned wood newel post. Beautifully painted a long time ago in rich red, green and golden yellow. A candle holder with a spike has been added at the top. Six inch tall by 3 inch wide pillar candle fits perfectly. Large and heavy, the candlestick measures 22 inches high and 5 inches across the round base. Very shapely curves. The post has a primitive appearance, and is scarred and worn, but not chippy. There are a couple of patches in the wood (please see all photos) and a crack on one side, but the pillar stands steady and is not wobbly. Felt furniture protectors on the bottom. Perfectly primitive Christmas decor!
