Mexican folk art Tonala-style pottery owl, poised on front feet and tail. Tonala is a small town on the edge of Guadalajara that has been an important pottery center for over 3,000 years. Beautifully hand-painted in grey and taupe, with intricate designs on sides and back. Signed “Jose” on bottom. He has a small scratch in the glaze over his right eye, but otherwise in great condition. Stands 5 inches high and about 4.5 inches long.
