[pinterest count=”horizontal”] What an interesting kitchen antique! This is a circular sheet iron primitive broiler pan with removable wire grid and turned wood handle, made between 1869-1880. Oval embossed brass maker’s label reads “S. BOWERS/AMERICAN BROILER/TRADE MARK/PAT. JULY 21, 1868/AMERICAN BROILER CO. PROPRIETORS.” Appears to be very rare. The only other one we could find is in the New York Historical Society Museum. Measures 11 inches in diameter and 3.25 inches deep, with a 5.25 inch wood handle. In great shape with no missing or broken pieces or dents, though quite dirty. Could be cleaned up if you prefer. Has a wonderful antique look and would be a beautiful addition to a primitive kitchen display.
