[pinterest count=”horizontal”] What an incredible find! Absolutely gorgeous antique game hunting picture frame, probably made at the turn of the last century. Beautiful wide hand sawn oak frame bevels down to the inside of the frame. Three hand-carved decorations, apparently made of different wood, have been permanently attached, including a game hare and game bird, each hanging head-down on the sides of the frame. At the top is a long-eared dear head on a shield, with oak leaves below and two crossed long guns. Interestingly, the deer head is tilted a little to the left, giving it an inquisitive look. All three figures have been painted black. Outside of the frame measures 23 inches long by 19.5 inches wide. Inside measurement is 17 inches high by 13 inches wide. Incredibly, this frame is in excellent condition, and the carved figures do not have broken or missing pieces. The figures may have been repainted. This exquisite frame is an outstanding piece of history and would make a stunning frame for a mirror or rustic art.
