Rustic Woodland Fall Style

Fall home style landscapes teeming with creatures great and small are sweeping into interiors and featuring strongly in design collections this season. And we couldn’t be happier!

Soft, tranquil natural looks, capturing autumn and its color palette and enhanced by woodland characters creates the warm and cozy look we crave at this time of year.

“Combining a sense of adventure and escapism, the rustic woodland trend stems from a love of the outdoors and a back-to-basics approach to rustic living,” says Andrew Tanner, head of home design at Sainsbury’s in London.

We just know we love the luxurious comfort of design elements sourced from the natural world and the calm yet uplifting feeling it gives us.

Here’s our take on the look, which features many of the natural and woodland treasures available at vintageadirondack.com:

So how to achieve this authentic textural and tactile look? We started with a gorgeous vintage Navajo rug in a beautiful palette of cream, taupe and brown:

Stags and antlers are a must and we incorporated a matching trio of small deer antlers mounted on brown velvet. See them here: https://vintageadirondack.com/product/set-of-3-velvet-trimmed-deer-antlers/ .

We adorned our chair with a chunky knit throw and linen stag pillow, and added lots of candles to set the mood. From there it’s just a matter of adding the woodland accessories like our cast iron squirrels:

Or our lovely hand-carved Black Forest Bear:

We hope you’ll find a little time to warm up your home with some natural, cozy throws and pillows and a few whimsical woodland critters this fall!
